Staying Well in Cadillac

HOSPITAL FACILITIES

Cadillac Mercy Hospital is part of the Trinity Health Services community healthcare system, providing primary and some secondary care services throughout north central lower Michigan. Together with the subsidiaries of the community healthcare system, Mercy Hospital offers a complete line of medical services and promotes an outstanding and diverse medical staff.

History: Mercy Hospital has been a member of the Cadillac community since 1908. It was presented to the Sisters of Mercy by Mr. and Mrs. Delos Diggins. Keeping pace with the expanding northern Michigan area and the evolving medical field, numerous expansions and modernization programs have been completed. Today Trinity Hospital is still owned and operated by the Religious Sisters of Mercy through Mercy Health Services of Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Mission and Values: Employees, volunteers, and physicians within the organization embrace the values of the Sisters of Mercy which include Mercy, Service, Justice, Preferential Option for the Poor, and Human Dignity.

Services: Mercy Hospital is a complete primary care hospital with a 24 hour physician staffed emergency department, medical/surgical services, pediatrics, obsterics, critical and intensive care, renal dialysis, mental health services, podiatric services, cardiology, rehabilitation services, and complete diagnostics including CT scanning, MRI, nuclear medicine, and echocardiography. The recent addition of Mercy Healthline, a toll-free information and referral line (1-800-33-MERCY), allows individuals to call for general health information, service information and referral, physician referral, and class registration.

Current Strategies: In an effort to position Mercy Hospital for reform, several key strategies have been identified.

1. Continuously improve community health through community partnerships and advocacy, focusing on populations at risk (special commitments to the poor and to issues affecting women and children).

2. Increase patients served.

3. Continuously improve quality of care and service, meeting or exceeding patient requirements.

4. Effectively integrate services across the care continuum and in partnerships with our physicians.

5. Continuously reduce costs to provide best value.

6. Continuously improve the capability, adaptability and quality of work life of our employees.
